Happy Hour: The Earthquake Cocktail to toast Charles Richter on National Richter Scale Day (Richter Scale invented in 1935 to measure the seismic waves produced by an earthquake)

Earthquake Cocktail

1/3 gin
1/3 whiskey
1/3 absinthe

Shake with ice. Strain into cocktail glass.

Ed. Note: So called because if there should happen to be an earthquake when you are drinking it, it won't matter. This is a cocktail whose potency is not to be taken too lightly or for that matter, too frequently!
