History in Pictures- U.S. Secretary of Interior leased Teapot Dome naval oil reserves in Wyoming on 7 April 1922.


The Teapot Dome, a strange house in Zillah (WA, USA). It was built in 1922 as a reminder of the Teapot Dome Scandal involving President Warren G. Harding and a federal petroleum reserve in Wyoming.
Teapot Dome House Zillah, Washington U.S. History buffs might recognize this structure: Architect Jack Ainsworth handcrafted the Dome House in 1922 after the Teapot Dome scandal. The scandal involved the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, who was jailed for accepting bribes from oil companies that wanted access to government-owned oil fields. The cornerless building has a sheet metal handle and concrete spout. The pot, which housed the pay station of a gas station until 2004.
