History in Pictures- Capitol Tower, the home of Capitol Records in Hollywood, was dedicated on 6 April 1956. It was the first circular office tower in America.
The 13-story earthquake-resistant tower was designed by Welton Becket and was intended to look like a stack of records and the blinking light atop the tower spells out the phrase "Hollywood" in Morse code.
