Pop Culture History- The TV Dinner - 6 March is National Frozen Food Day and 6 April is National TV Dinner Day



Only got these very occasionally. It seemed like it took FOREVER to cook them in the oven(by today's standards, anyway)!Yikes! I loved T.V. dinners as a boy. The only way I learned to eat English Sweet Peas was in this aluminum tray. There they were - my mom cold inspect the folded over tray and reopen it for my 2nd take. We didn't waste food at my house when I was growing up in the 1960's.


TV Dinners were invented by Gerry Thomas in 1954. The original dinners were Swanson brand.
